The OpenNMS Group completed a custom development project that allows the discovery, capabilities, and categories to be defined in an XML file and imported on a cron like schedule. This allows users of OpenNMS to provide a URL with access to XML data from a provisioning system and disable the OpenNMS Discovery and Capsd deamons.
