Intro
The Path Outages web page is reached from the opennms main navigation bar. It shows the status of the critical path service (ICMP) for each critical path in the database, and the number of nodes dependent on each critical path. When you are configuring Critical Paths you need to be careful to enter paths in a logical hierarchy. Initially you should enter the default gateway for your OpenNMS server, then critical paths from broadest to most specific. Otherwise, OpenNMS will overwrite your Critical Path entries. A sample screen shot of this page is shown below.
Page Details
The Critical Path Node column lists the names of the nodes to which the critical path IP interfaces belong. THe name of each node is a link to the node page for that node. The status of ICMP for the critical path interface is indicated by the background color in the critical service column. Green = up, red = down, and gray = unmanaged. The # of Nodes column lists the number of nodes subject to each critical path. Each individual number is a link to an additional web page that displays a list of those nodes and the status of managed services on those nodes. An example of this page is shown below.
