From OpenNMS

Okay, upon first glance at the code, "dpname" appears to be short for "distributed poller name". Though I haven't yet been able to infer a fuller meaning from the context - I'm only just beginning using OpenNMS, and still don't have a clear big-picture view to integrate this neatly into.
